They’ll just look at it, chuckle, and discuss it for a few moments and that is their obligation. They won’t do any more because they are the majority and have zero obligation to actually do anything. Plus the wording is so bad in the petition they could simply reply and say:
“There will be another General Election in just over four years, we have honoured the petition. Thank you.”
This is so dumb. People really have no clue.
I don’t want an election to be called every time people are unhappy, we wouldn’t get anything done, people are always unhappy, it’s the British condition.
The reason we give them 5 years is so they can do some stuff that in the short term will be bleh but might work in the long term. Not saying this will be that but see previous, this isn’t a bug of democracy it’s a feature.
The first PM to actually be elected by the public in recent time and the gammonatti are throwing a tantrum over it. Pathetic.
