  1. This is not good, if the mud freezes, the Russian tanks who are forced to stick to the roads so far could spread out and advance through the fields too.

  2. It total, it’s a wash on paper. Yes, the mud will freeze, allowing those units with fuel to return to moving toward Kiev. But, the elements will suck out more morale from the grunts. More, is the road to Kiev still have structural integrity? How much can get in?

  3. As someone who regularly experiences winter temps down to -30: To think that a -15C cold spike when stranded outside with failing gear and logistics *low on fuel* will be good bc it frees you from rosputo… no. Oh no.

Ground doesn’t become sustaining that quickly. The surface layer freezes, but when you tread on it, it just breaks and now you have mud with ice shards in it.

If those guys don’t have fuel or wood nearby to burn for heat, they will either: Raid locals for shelter, or f’ing die. Russians are probably used to this sort of stuff, but below -10C the weather is out to kill you.
