Commissioning the car after damage (car roof torn). What kind of certificates do I need for the registration inspection and where can I get them (which companies provide that)? I will fix the roof for sure by welding it properly. Thanks in advance for the answer!

  1. Needs to be a certified body repair shop that also needs to document the repairs. Has a professional checked the damage out if it’s even salvageable?

  2. I’m sorry can’t help with answers, just wanna know how it happened.

  3. Very likely not salvageable. It would need to be fixed per instructions from the manufacturer and they likely won’t allow repair that close to crash structures. You should consult certified body/crash repair shop.

  4. Is the car a salvage title car? If not, just fix it properly and no one will care/know. The damage seems to be only on the roof skin, so its not going to affect structural integrity.

  5. I guess it depends whether damage is marked on the registration. If not, you don’t need to show it to inspection. If you do, I doubt they ask who did it.

If its marked as structural damage then I don’t know.

  6. If the car had vauriopoisto you will need: body measurement certificate, safety systems inspection certificate, wheel alignment certificate, replaced parts overview. If the car is electric or plugin, you need a certificate that the battery is not damaged. This one is nearly impossible.

Edit: I checked the car. You will also need to document the repair, take all notes and pictures. Welding might not be acceptable. Inspector will demand this documentation. Also remember, if you will sell this, you have to note that it had vauriopoisto and how many parts were replaced.
