Hilton has revealed that it is set to enter the Republic of Moldova with its first opening in the country’s capital Chisinau.
The Hilton Garden Inn project will be carried out through an extensive reconstruction of the historic Dacia Hotel building, located in the historic center of the capital.
The transformation will involve expanding and modernising the structure to meet Hilton standards, and it is set to open in 2026.
The local investment in the franchise project starts with an initial allocation of €5m (£4.15m), with projections to reach €10-12m (£8.3-10m) in the coming years.
Currently, the Dacia Hotel already employs dozens of people, and its integration into the Hilton chain will create opportunities for professional development and staff expansion.
Iulia Scurtu, manager of the Dacia Hotel, said: “We are confident that this project will be a success and will provide top-quality services to tourists, whether they come from abroad or from Moldova.”
Natalia Bejan, director of Invest Moldova Agency, added: “Hilton’s entry into the Moldovan market is an important milestone for us. Moldova is an emerging destination with a lot of untapped potential, and we believe that this investment will not only raise the standard of hospitality in the country but also further catalyze the growth of tourism and economic performance. We look forward to welcoming Hilton to our country and working together to bring new levels of service to both domestic and international guests.”
