Lizzie Line for speed, especially if you live East or West. Overground for pleasantness – aircon, spacious, clean, and you can look out the window
Elizabeth line is not a real tube line.
No surprise the three best lines are also the three newest
I want to talk to the people claiming that central line is the best. Well, not talk because if you use it you’ve got permanent hearing damage. Maybe sign to them.
The Victoria line is insane at number 2. Yeah it’s quick but fucking hell trying to get on one of those trains at rush hour in Victoria is a fucking Olympic sport.
Having spent almost my entire life in SE postcodes, the Lizzie line has been a revelation for me
Who in God’s name is choosing the Central, Northern, or the Met line.
Like I get if you can like the H&C if it happens to be the one that gets you straight into work, say. For a lot of people the District and the H&C are basically the same line, and they’re spacious. The Bakerloo has old-timey charm, so I can imagine one weird little freak voting for it. But whatever your definition of “best” is, the Central or the Northern are not going to be the ones that score the highest.
Edit: People are right, I’m unfairly lumping the Met line in with the other two here. It’s surprising to see it in there as a favourite though, having the least personality of all lines.
The Overground should get a few more points now with its renaming, so now people aren’t getting confused/lost at Highbury & Islington with the 4 platforms for the Overground.
If you like the Central line, you have issues.
(Also obligatory Elizabeth line is not a Tube line comment.)
It’s the best line when it works. I am, however, disappointed to see the Piccadilly Line so low. I think it’s one of the better ones on the network.
Erm ackshually the Elizabeth Line not a line on the London Underground TfL mode but its own TfL mode named “Elizabeth Line”
Victoria line being second is INSANE, it’s my least favourite. Gets swampy like nobody’s business.
WE NEED MORE LOVE FOR THE H&C!
Goes everywhere central, to all the major national rail stations and crosses over with every other line.
– loyal Hammersmithian
And that is the power of investment ladies and gents. If taxes are low and central goverment dont have the power to build new infrastructure we wouldnt be able to have these basic backbones of the country
As someone who doesn’t live in London, has the Elizabeth line noticeably taken traffic/congestion away from the central tube lines?
This is why I love Canary Wharf for its transport options – Jubilee, Elizabeth Line and DLR!
So Vicky, coz Lizzie is not the tube
I took elizabeth line daily and I would try everything to avoid taking anything else. With MTR soon to be changed, I hope Elizabeth line can keep the current performace and better.
and I hope they get the change to properly change all lines to Elizabeth line standard one day.
I like the Jubilee line. On average I’m not waiting a long time, 3 minutes typically. It’s not too busy (when I travel anyway). The service isn’t quite as quick as the Victoria line so I agree with this.
If the Elisabeth line opened until late it would be amazing.
Surprised about the DLR being so low, I really enjoy the views going through canary wharf
I’ve got a real soft spot for the Bakerloo. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s my local and gets me where I need to be, or Stockholm syndrome.
Ah yes the London overground. Everyone’s favourite underground line.
whoeverpicked the central line is mad. personally i’m an overground or northern liner
What’s wrong with the Waterloo and city line 🤔
Can’t believe the freeLR is so hated. Also why is Northern line so low it’s a personal favourite of mine
Think they should’ve polled for people’s preferred ORDER of lines instead just totalling up votes for their “best” line?
No fucking way does the sauna that is the Victoria line or the journey to hearing loss that is the Jubilee line score higher than trains with actual room in them (Circle, H&C, District), trains with air conditioning/heating (Overground) or trains with a view (DLR).
Pretty sure every time I go Northern Line, I blow my nose amd something black comes out on the tissue. How can that be better than the DLR?
Bakerloo is the best, it’s quirky and not boring like the others
Waterloo and City line is highly under-rated.
None of these 1000 londoners can actually be from London because VICTORIA LINE? C’mon guys! Sadly not been on the Lizzie Line yet as I’ve had no reason too but I should soon.
Overground would be my number 1 but I hate how badly it links with other tube lines in many places, and how some services are every 15m which is problematic if it’s not your first train in a journey.
Why is W&C so low? It is the most functional line there is. Comes every 3 mins, 4 minute journey, and there are no crazy long walks from the station entrance to the platform as with so many other lines.
I’d imagine for most of it’s users, it is the only tube they use for their commute as the rest is on overground lines into Waterloo.
Mandatory ‘Elizabeth line is not a tube line.’
I actually do like the WC. It’s so fucking weird and has loads of great quirks about it.
Elizabeth line is the best if you don’t live on one of the stations that are optional. Then you are in for a lot of pain
If I can stand up straight by the doors, it doesn’t FEEL like the tube to me.
Jubilee is my fave.
Because I remember 1999 so well, the extension stations are all space age and it makes the best noise.
But the thing most of these types of polls don’t address is WHY people are using the tube.
Because if you’re primarily a commuter – it’ll massively skew what you like.
If like me – you’re coming and going largely as you please – it’s very different.
So the Bombardiers on the Overground feel swanky cos they’re new.
Same as the ones on the Elizabeth line.
And yes, if you just want to be transported to places – happy days.
The S stock on sub-surface are neither swanky, nor cool. Completely non-descript to me.
Which leaves Bakerloo as the “living history” vibe and the rest to fight it out based on their routes.
But I don’t imagine most people answering these kinds of polls think about it in this much depth.
Who on earth voted for the Victoria line?!
Ngl my favourite MODE is Crossrail/Elizabeth Line then DLR – DLR loses for having such long waits between trains at most stations (but still less than 10 minutes – we are just spoilt in London)!
If we are speaking strictly tube, then Jubilee for me
JUSTICE FOR THE BAKERLOO 🤎🤎🤎
>Despite being named under the same system as [London Underground](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Underground) lines, and having sections which are underground, the Elizabeth line is not classified as a London Underground line.
I live on the Lizzy line. It is always delayed/suffering from issues, regularly extremely congested and most routes skip Acton which I can’t fathom.
I really don’t think it’s as good as many think.
Recently hosted a drink talk learn night where someone specifically gave a talk about how the Victoria is the best tube line – but in doing so he did also say that the Elizabeth, Overground and DLR are not classified as tube lines due to their overground/national rail components and carriage size. People were MAD about it but I think he’s right. It is also technically the only line on the London Underground that is entirely underground! Northern will always be my favourite but that’s the Stockholm syndrome talking, not because it’s the best one.

Nah man Victoria is shtink.
Overground and Elizabeth are streaks ahead.
3 of them aren’t Tube lines.
