Assad is in serious trouble. The SOR in southern Syria has joined the rebellion, seizing all of Daraa province, and now is advancing towards Damascus. The SDF has seized the main road to Iraq and the government enclaves in Al Hasakah and Qamishli. And HTS and the SNA are closing in on Hama.

  1. Russia losing naval bases in the Mediterranean is going to be a huge blow to them.

  2. A quick note – disregard the map pic as it’s outdated.. Click the liveuamap link to see the updated situation map

  3. Will these factions end up fighting each other?

    How can Syria be divided up after their victory?

  4. I thought Hama already fell yesterday and they were pushing down into Rastan?

  5. Come on guys, at least try to put up current news. HTS is inside Homs, and could secure the entire city in the next 24-48 hours. Similarly rebels are driving North to Damascus. And the SDF from Al-tanf has driven west and is threatening to cut the M5 between Homs and Damascus. There is fighting on the Southern outskirts of Damascus.

  6. Liveuamap showed rebels toppling assads statue in Jaramana which is ~2-3 km from center of Damascus.

    Impressive how 2 days ago regions south of Damascus were held by government but now rebels have taken all the 100 km between Damascus and Jordanian border. Government buildings in central Damascus might be overtaken before current day ends.

  7. Syria is going to turn into a Libya 2.0, just a bigger mess than it was and everyone here’s cheering it on lol

  8. I am out of the loop. Can someone please ELI5 what the effect of the war in Syria on the war in Ukraine is?

  9. Some of that captured equipment from overrun bases will be of interest to western intelligence if they can cut a deal to get a look at it. I head they got one of their newest air defense radars that Russian bloggers are very concerned about.

  10. From the map:
    Syrian opposition: “We have launched a **special military operation** from several axes to enter the capital, Damascus”
    => Lol
