  1. Signed by anyone who actually lives in London?? Didn’t think so

  2. Humiliation? Really? Russian and reform bots signing a petition is not that big a deal. Also a democracy is not run by petitions

  3. 500k racist Boomers signing an online petition is hardly a “humiliation” for the Mayor of London

  4. A knighthood for making London the stabby stabby capital of Europe?

  5. How’s that one to call a general election going? Any sign of parliament dissolving?

  6. Bet it’s a change.org petition.

We all know they carry a lot of weight and don’t get ignored 99% of the time.

  7. I’m sure he’s going to be completely humiliated when he’s still knighted.

  8. If he had any form of dignity,he would say no to the Knighthood, but it’s likely he won’t.

  9. Well, not as humiliating as the time Jimmy Saville was made knight bachelor in 1990 because he was a “prodigious” philanthropist, but as it turns out, he was a prolific sex offender….his victims were as young as 5 and as old as 75.

  10. Are we really reporting on every petition?

Can I start a petition to ban that?

  11. News in. People who support political party A dislike the key figures in political party B

  12. All the right have left is petitions. This is Miliband left out of touch, pathetic.

You used to be the natural party of government

  13. Oh are contservatives doing silly little petitions again?

You lot went quiet on the one you said was a super big deal, where you asked to illegally overturn the election.

Why’d you go quiet about that? Is it because you couldn’t even astroturf it to over 3 million signatures, and now you’re just moving on to the next one like nothing happened and this one also isn’t an absolute embarrassment for you?

  14. Kemi Badinoch said in 2019 that Britain is run on elections, not petitions.

Although that one was about scrapping Brexit

  15. What has he actually done for London beyond yapping about ULEZ and doing absolutely nothing to tackle absolutely shocking levels of knife crime?

  16. Started by a conservative councillor Matthew Goodwin Freeman.

“Not to mention, the price of living and transport in London has risen dramatically during Khan’s tenure” – taken from the petition itself.

The price of living has gone up across the whole nation, not just London. The blame for this can be laid firmly at the feet of the Tories who have been in government for the last 14 years until just recently. Brexit has been nothing but a total and complete disaster and will leave generations of brits worse off. Covid also did a number on the economy which was again wildly mismanaged by the tory government.

I have no strong feelings about Khan as mayor but for this tory councillor to be posting anything online pointing the finger at anyone but his own party for the troubles we face as a nation is absolutely ridiculous. If he really wants to beat labour at the next election he should be spending time working to improve his own absolute joke of a party.

  17. I still refuse to believe people unironically read the Express.

  18. But Phillip Green still has his and he’s a scumbag.

  19. Petitions seem to be a common weapon by the right. It’s funny that they’re also incredibly cringe and dumb.

Express reporting on this and calling it “humiliating” for Khan just makes them look like childish clowns.

  20. I think there might be a relationship between members of the Farage Rioters Party and those who signed this petition?

  21. I’m not sure how humiliating it is. It’s no different to the general election petition. The people who sign it are the ones who end up looking stupid.

  22. The right are just throwing tantrum after tantrum 🤣

  23. He probably hasn’t even heard about the Change.org petition that hit its own self-imposed target…

  24. Yeah, because the millions of times “legalise weed” petitions have met its target, have done wonders over the years….. /s
