The overground and underground often meet or cross, but don’t interchange. Which of these locations is the worst?
*if I missed any in the photo please let me know, the long one is because the Lioness line goes very close to the northern line around Chalk Farm.*
Peckham Rye (Overground) to the Bakerloo Line.
South London is *notoriously* underserved by the Underground, and the Bakerloo Line extension to Peckham Rye has been proposed multiple times.
While the Overground connects Peckham Rye to other parts of London, linking it to the Underground would dramatically improve connectivity. In its current state, those coming from South London have long, multi-stage commutes to reach central London or other Underground-served areas.
Tufnell Park Overground should definitely be reopened. It would be really easy to do this.
Were you intending to draw a penis at Camden?
Brixton. The possibilities of an Overground, Victoria line connection are immense. Opens up an unmet eastern corridor. Unfortunately the bridges are too awkward and high to make a station
Walking between Camden and Camden Road will maintain the same single journey. That’s what the dotted line below your circle means.
So it’s not a connection in the sense that you don’t need to leave the station, but as an interchange it would likely be the same length walk if they were to make it all one station. If you choose the transit display on google maps you’ll see that the point the lines cross over is pretty much the same distance away from each of Camden and Camden Road stations.
Primrose Hill should definitely be reopened.
No one says “wombling free” and it does my ‘ead in.
On a related note, it would be wonderful if they could extend the victoria line one stop on from walthamstow central to leytonstone (meeting the central line), so north east londonders could then have easy access to piccadilly/ victoria/ central
Would beat the crap out of the circular bus thing
The circle around Bethnal Green isn’t nearly large enough. That whole Shoreditch/Whitechapel/Bethnal/Aldgate is so close….
Not a connection, but they really should reopen York Road, especially with all the new development around Granary Square.
Not really possible but further east, something that cuts across the overground, central, elizabeth and district, vertically would be game changer for Barking/Dagenham/Newham/Havering.
The Met and Lioness around Northwick Park / Kenton. Yeah it’s an out of station interchange but it’s a considerable walk. Having a direct interchange would be so much more convenient.
Shoreditch High Street with a single station for both windrush and weaver lines and the central line all in one. Its also irritating that the Overground from Romford to Upminster cannot go past Upminster because of the District Line. It would make a Romford – Lakeside journey more bareable. Not exactly related to the post but the fact the Elizabeth Line doesn’t stop at Limehouse is another irritating one.
… if you couldn’t tell that I am from an RM postcode from this post.
Similar but an Elizabeth Line station at City Airport
Shoreditch High Street should not only have a connection to the central line but also between the Weaver and Windrush lines. It should also be rezoned to Zone 2. This would make it easier to travel north south in East London, decongest Liverpool St, and significantly improve Night Tube/Shoreditch nightlife.
