4. Trump and Fox News effectively sold voters on nonissues. Just *electing* Trump has already “solved” these issues. Post birth abortions are no more. Migrant crime has plummeted. The economy is roaring.

   Republicans have been dumbing down the population for decades with Fox News. Never underestimate the power of stupidity coupled with propaganda.

6. Tim Walz was done dirty by the Harris campaign staffers. He came out swinging then was muzzled in favour of capturing suburban republican votes.

9. Alot of voters are not happy with the economy, as in, they are having a hard time keeping the tank full and the fridge stocked. Prices are hurting alot of people. Trump was able to convince his voters he had all the answers. Biden has been working on fixing the economy, but his policies were not working fast enough. I’m worried the disconnect of the democratic politicians and the voters will hurt the democratic party if they don’t work towards doing things the voters want….aka: raising the federal minimum wage, single payer health insurance, labor rights, no waste laws, and something to fix the overpriced housing.

11. I was too. I didn’t think we were this racist. I didn’t think we put so little value on women’s lives. I didn’t think people were so blind to all the lies. I didn’t think people would elect a convicted felon, or a rapist. I didn’t think “Christians” would ignore all of this, or put aside their values to elect a felon and rapist.

12. A rapist who parties with famous pedophiles and admits to walking in on underage girls while they’re getting dressed won the election. I think it’s fair to say a lot of people were surprised.

16. I was a little surprised to learn that much of America has values that are so very different from mine. I was able to chalk up some of 2016 to ignorance, and when he lost in 2020, I thought people had learned. By 2024, there’s just no excuse. It was a deliberate choice, so I am having to confront the fact that so much of America is either cruel, evil, and anti-American, or is comfortable enough with it to condone it as long as they get cheaper gas and groceries (which, of course, they won’t, so there’s the ignorance part).

    This is my argument against Fox and the conservative media: They are social engineers perpetuating scareware against Americans.

18. I’m disappointed but not surprised. The American electorate is literally insane and will make the dumbest choices at the most critical moments so this is pretty much par for the course.

20. Harris and Walz are still getting trashed around the clock on Fox News. I was on vacation last week and fam had on FN multiple hours per day. They were praising Trump like a deity while painting Harris, Biden etc as radical extreme leftists out of touch with America who they say destroyed the economy, let migrants in with open arms and allowed cities to become war zones, etc. it was just nonstop coverage of migrants and that Trump won’t have any of it and will step in to save America. Millions of people think Trump is some kind of alpha Rambo with super-genius IQ.

21. It’s a concerning time for America moving forward, especially with 77 million people voting for a candidate with a controversial past and a felon. It’s troubling that there seems to be a lack of conscience after all Trump did. This situation could potentially lead the country down a path of division and hostility. It’s reminiscent of how Germany was after WW1, which ultimately led to a dictatorship. I already said during Biden’s election that I’m scared of those who voted for Trump because those folks are decided.

25. With radio, TV, social media, and influencers like Rogan constantly on repeat, it’s inevitable that some people will follow the charlatans. The left needs to reclaim its presence on the airwaves. In places like South Florida, right-wing media dominates radio nonstop. Local TV stations also need to be taken back. Platforms like TikTok are no better—every third video seems to portray Trump in a flattering light. That needs to change. Both traditional and digital media are heavily consumed, and we must expand beyond spaces like Reddit to make our voices heard once again.
