Two people were injured in a shooting incident in Denmark on Friday night, according to Police Chief Leroy Grimes.

“A dispute occurred in the parking lot of McDonald’s and the BP station where shots were fired,” Grimes said.

Two people received injuries that were not considered life-threatening. They were transported by private vehicles to MUSC Health Bamberg-Barnwell Emergency and Imaging.

The two people are in stable condition, Grimes said.

The Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, S.C. Department of Natural Resources and the Bamberg Police Department responded to the incident. SLED is the lead investigative agency.
