Went for my wee evening dip and came across this?? Wish we would’ve been told so I could’ve brought my goggles. (Storm Darragh right now, Eyemouth, Scottish Borders)

  1. Evening dip where? Did you not know there was a storm all day?

Surely the dip wasn’t needed, all you had to do was step outside!

  2. Why are you walking along a waterfront when there’s a storm going on?  A storm that has been widely publicised.

  3. It’s wild right enough. We were supposed to go out this evening but have cancelled. It’s cosier in with the fire going.

  4. Those snowmen have massive ejaculations. Never building one again. Glad you are safe.

  5. Reminder to stay away from the ocean when waves are big. Beaches, cliffs, piers, harbour walls, rocks, just stay away. That photo you want of a big wave shouldn’t mean that some poor RNLI volunteer has to pull your bloated corpse out the ocean.

Edit: Not a dig at OP here. They look like they kept their distance.

Edit 2: Actually, this is a dig at OP. I just looked at the photos again.

  6. Well you know if you had fallen no one would be rescuing you eh. Red warning mate.

  7. I’ve (Canadian) watched a few shows(based in the UK) and scenes of people swimming in winter. I’m curious… How do you not freeze your knackers off???

  8. I have some family in Eyemouth. We often visit The Fleet when we’re there.

In weather like that, I’d be staying indoors. Not even a pint and a dram would be enough to tempt me out in that weather.

  9. Used to go to Eyemouth every few months when growing up for long weekends. This is what it looks like in the height of summer too, I think.

  10. You’re braver than me standing near the bantry in this weather.

  11. I’m even getting blown in bed, would hate to be outside in this

(As in the wind is blowing on me through the air vents in the windows next to my bed)

  12. Please have some civility, we don’t need to know you’re having a wee during your evening dip.

  13. I’m based in NY, spent my childhood visiting my nana in Eyemouth very heartwarming to see pics from a stranger on the internet from all the way over there. Hope you’re staying safe and warm!

  14. I lived in St Abbs until I was 5 and my parents got divorced. My dad’s side of the family still live in Eyemouth still so spent a few weeks every summer & Christmas there for the past 25 years! Gorgeous place, does get battered in the storms though!

  15. Was not expecting to see my hometown pop up on casualuk but here we are! After reading a few of the comments, can confirm that OP wasn’t in any danger of being dragged away into the sea if they were standing in the area it looks like in the photos, you’d have to be very unfortunate to end up in the sea from there 😅

  16. Went though so much effort even though your photos look like shit
