1. Between tweeting multiple times per hour, maintaining a top ranking in the Diablo 4 video game, and cavorting with the Trump posse, when is the last time Musk has actually done any work?

2. The thing about the government is that one person is usually not driving every decision. In this case, there is a union that the new administration will need to figure this out with.

3. And yet, the party who bills themself as the party of small government and which supposedly opposes an invasive big state will applaud this. They generally seem to consider all government employees as parasites and socialists, so this will all be just fine. This is the party that supposedly supports the thin blue line, but only until those cops are coming against them, and then those cops are also socialist parasites in the employ of the big state. Christ, Trump seems ready to pardon all of the J6ers even if they’re in prison for assaulting officers.

   In the end, this is all just more of the same with Republicans. They will drive out all of the good people, and then when government becomes even less effective, they will point to it as proof that government doesn’t work, which will justify more cuts, which will make it worse ,and the cycle continues. They break things and then bitch about them being broken.

4. Musk should be the most popular man in DC by summer. It’s quite possible that, after about 30-40% of federal workers quit in disgust, we’ll finally understand what they all did for us.

   Weird that when you exclude all of the people that actually need to be on site to do their job you are just left with people that can do most of their work remotely and just need to show up for face to face meetings and to do the parts of their jobs that need to be done on site.

    When I work from home, I have done work at all hours of the day and night. I’ve responded to emails at 3am. I’ve finished projects at 9pm and didn’t charge the government for the extra hours. When I worked in the office, my work stops at five, no exceptions.

19. Does the “genius” do math? Some back of the envelope calcs show firing all non military government workers saves about $350 billion. That’s about 5.5% of the total $6.3 trillion budget. A pittance compared to the services we will lose.

20. Can’t wait until Trump eventually fires him for taking attention away from him.

    These two’s egos are not built to coexist in the same room. Let alone the same administration. It’s a miracle they’ve lasted this long.

    Shocked he didn’t drop him shortly after winning the election, but I’m sure some promises had to be kept.

It’s kind of low-key unnerving to me that we’re literally going to have a shadow president who has never and can never be actually voted into the office of president, who is going to be making presidential level decisions that will effect millions of Americans who again, didn’t vote for him, and the ONLY reason he will be serving as this shadow president is because he’s the richest man on the planet and threw a bunch of money at a major party’s campaign (because the country says it’s legal to do that), and it seems that we’ve all just accepted this as the case or we are downright okay with it. 

    This is no longer a democracy, we’re living in a plutocracy.
