  1. I don’t go clubbing any more but used to and watched a Creamfields live stream and noticed a load of people just stood their with phones in the air, pretty sad really considering the high energy atmosphere there used to be its like people are going to be seen and to get some vids for social media. Its similar to recording gigs by watching it through your phone screen, its like taking one step back from the direct experience.

  2. It would be better if people just controlled themselves and didn’t spend the whole time at events on their phones.

But of course they can’t so I’m not surprised it’s becoming more common for the venue to do it for them.

  3. But i need to see from my perspective, I can’t relive the concert looking at other footage, I need my footage/s

  4. Should be the same at the football. Take your selfie then get on with watching the game. I don’t mind filming fan banter but what is the point in recording the football? Professionals are literally doing it for you. Watch when you get home

  5. Selfie on the dance floor, but you better not kill the groove,

  6. This has been a thing since the early 2000s when digital cameras became small enough to carry in a bag, and camera phones started kicking off, combined with the rise of social media like MySpace

  7. went to printworks a few years back for a night like this, and you didn’t know the djs who were playing, just the genres of the night

on the door you held your phone out and they popped pretty robust blackout stickers on the front and back cameras. security were hot on recording and people doing it. maybe like 3 people got away with it but it was such a good night

the fact you just knew the genre was cool, so there were amazing artists who played in the end in tiny rooms as well as the main room

10/10 would go again but rip printworks
