  1. > >The lightning-fast rebel strike has not only strained relations between Russia and Syria but has also made the Kremlin nervous about the safety of its military bases.

    > Fighterbomber, a prominent aviation military blogging channel, has warned that the Kremlin will struggle to evacuate its main air base before rebels attack and capture it.

    > It issued the warning after Jihadist rebels captured the city of Hama on Thursday evening, opening up a clear route to the Khmeimim air base, 75 miles west near the Mediterranean.

    > “It is **almost impossible to evacuate the base. In the best case, it is possible to evacuate most of the personnel, documentation and ferry serviceable aircraft,” it said. “All other property will remain** at the bases.”

**Russia’s only naval base in the Mediterranean gone.** They don’t cover all their bases which is an oversight, since they attack on as many hybrid fronts as they can. Some little measure of FAFO. More to come as it is wont to.

  2. While I’m not very bullish on Syrian people’s general future still, Russia and Iran’s influence in the Med collapsing this hard is a spectacular sight and long time coming.

The meltdown on social media by the assadist / axis of resistance / contrarian melange of the likes of syrian girl, the grayzone’s propagandists and allied snakesmen is also great joy to behold as they try to hopelessly twist reality as it ran out from under them.

  3. You would think that such a student of the history of Russia and it’s wars such as Putin would be very aware that you never fight a war on two fronts.

More to the point the idea that starting chaos in the middle east would only cause issues to the west is hilariously naive.

Now of course the poor Syrians may end up with something even worse than Assad not to mention anyone taking bets on when Erdogan or a proxy is going to move in on the Kurds.

  4. Not sure any of the media are being straight on Syria except for their combined absolute bias to cheer it all on with no consideration of the bigger picture

  5. What will happen to the Assad family? Are they gonna be trialled for their crimes finally, or will they hide somewhere in Russia, despite the article saying Russia doesn’t want to help them?

  6. Assadbros on suicide watch. Huffing copium.

I hope they eventually bring these people back to Syria in chains to stand trial for all their heinous crimes.
