WAUKESHA, Wis. — An employee of Prolec Energy in Waukesha died in an electrical accident Saturday after authorities found the body atop a transformer several feet in the air.
According to the Waukesha Police Department, first responders tried to save the employee’s life, but they were eventually pronounced dead at the scene.
Employees at the Waukesha Prolec Energy transformer manufacturing company were sent home early due to the incident, according to officials at the company.
Prolec said in a release, that the company called the police and stopped production immediately. They are working closely with authorities to help in the investigation. The company also reached out to the employee’s family to offer support.
In a release by WPD, authorities reiterated the safety of the community is a top priority and expressed condolences for the family of the deceased employee.
WPD is investigating to find out what led up to the incident.
