how long til they start going after women’s rights
I’m skeptical about these rebel factions to be honest. Let’s not forget one of the main factions was a branch of Al Qaeda for a long time. I guess we’ll see.
I’d be interested to know what exactly a “free Syria” looks like under these rebels.
>It added that the new Syria will be a place where everyone “coexists in peace, justice prevails and rights are established, where every Syrian is honored and his dignity is preserved, we turn the page on the dark past and open a new horizon for the future.”
Good start. Hope it works out like that.

Insane how, after a decade of civil war, Assad just lost in a single week. Just goes to show how much he relied on Russian support.
The conquers always roll into power with the bestest of intentions, until they get a taste of that actual power and then we see what they are really about.
The world watches and waits
Libya fate awaits them. Just give them a few months time. Syria is bad now. It will be hell by the end of next year.
I wonder what happened. Did he mismanage and alienate his own faction so badly that without Hezbollah, he had no troops left? Or did Assad get assassinated, leaving an army of useless yes-men scrambling for cover. I thought surely he would have enough loyal troops to defend his capital, even if he couldn’t hold the rest of the country.
Anyone celebrating this can’t even point out Syria on a map. Yeah the country being run by religious extremists will be a utopia now! And we sat by and supported it.
What does this mean for the Kurds?
Are these rebels good or just kinda … more of the same out and in?
So time for religious zealot rule?
I am cautiously optimistic. Syria has been at war for so many years I think peace is an appealing goal for many of these factions. It will require a lot of people putting their best foot forward but so far they do appear to be more concerned with ending the current conflict than settling scores between factions.
If Kurds had said this I would believe them unlike other factions in the Syrian Civil War, they actually established a democratic system based on Democratic Confederalism basically direct democracy, pluralism, gender equality, worker self-management, mutual aid, multiculturalism secularism and decentralized leadership.
There’s no place like Homs
Afghanistan 2.0?
Let’s not forget that Syria will now change in an extreme Islamic state. The horror doesn’t end here..
Oh wow. How long until its stable enough for all the displaced refugees to return?
Now watch this become another conflict torn tribal mess
A free syria await you
“With a sprinkle of religious extremism”
Let’s see how “free” it will be
Not likely. Chances are, one of the fundamentalist groups will win out and turn it into Taliban 2.0
So can Europe deport all the syrian refugees now since it is safe once again with the west’s favourite group in power?
As if this isn’t going to immediately erupt into a new civil war between all the different rebel groups..
Sad, but that’s the reality of what’s going to happen.
If Assad even with Russia and Irans help couldn’t keep the peace, these various factions (which even include ISIS) aren’t going to be able to.
There’s a poetry in Ukraine helping free Syria, hopefully they’ll meet the same success at home
The Dutch government, my country has recently hoped to start sending back refugees. To declare parts of the country as safe. When the fighting started i thought that now the plan was ruined because Syria is unsafe again. But now that Syria is free i think my government will restart and maybe even quicken the plans to send back refugees.
Nice. Syrians that were not happy in Europe, you can go back and live your lives in the way you want!
So Iran and Russia lost their control there but what does this mean moving forward for Syria? Who do these rebel groups hate and love?
I doubt it will be any “freer” than Assad
