1. All the more reason to aggressively fund battery research at universities with federal dollars and pipeline those innovations to the private sector.

2. Phew – I almost missed my daily dose of FUD from our petrocratic overlords. Big oil had a chance to transition to clean energy and keep petrochemicals expensive like De Beers for diamonds but for plastics, fertilizers, and synthetics instead. We need oil for modern civilization, but we burn it in homes with poor insulation.

   Now China has an opening to destabilize the power dynamics of the entire world. So short sighted its pathetic.
