It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄

  1. There are a lot of expressions in that photo that read as ‘this decision was a bad one’.

  2. I used to work on Regent Street in offices above shops. I’d forgotten how busy it was at Christmas till I saw this photo.

  3. Haven’t been in central london to do Xmas shopping since I was a child in the 90’s

  4. This is why they have a thing called the internet where you can shop

  5. Regent Street/Oxford Circus just about pips any Westfield as my idea of hell at Christmas time.

  6. When I moved back to London a decade ago, my kids loved us taking them into central London. That lasted about a year, and since then they refuse to set foot there, and I don’t blame them.

  7. They’ve got to swap out the angels next year for something else. Please!

  8. Is this the queue for the tube? You can walk like 5mins to Bond Street, or get a bus down to Warren Street

  9. Watch out for the guy with the forehead. Don’t stand too near the platform edge.

  10. It is a Horror especially this time of the year… i went there last year to get toys for the kids and I swore I would never do it again

  11. You really need to know how to navigate the West End. Get in there very early (on a week day) get your shopping and leave.

The amount of pickpocketing must be crazy.

Every now and again I’ll go to the West End on Christmas Eve, just to pick up some food, but I’m there as soon as the shop is open. It’s so easy and very quiet, back home within the hour.

  12. The man with the glasses looking directly at you in disgust is everything 🤣

  13. Omg is this normal? I left London in 2020 and don’t remember it being as stampeded as this!

  14. Imagine half of London on one street with absolutely nothing but a few shops that could also be found Westfield and the occasiona Chinese Tourist. That’s Oxford Circus/Regent Street.

  15. I used to commute in and out of London quite a lot for work. I would usually choose to walk when I could, rather than get the underground. Walking past Westminster, Piccadilly Circus etc. I often wondered how many photos like this I might be in the background of.

  16. I am convinced that purgatory will be Regents St on Christmas Eve with a hangover for eternity.

  17. Anyone remember when some Christmas decorations came undone during a storm a few years ago and bounced around mowing down anyone in its path?

  18. If you’re going to do your Christmas shopping, at least go to somewhere that won’t charge a grand for a pair of shoes. If you have no choice but to go into the West End, don’t be surprised if you are going to spend the whole day waiting in line.

  19. It feels like London is being squeezed, even before the Christmas period, by so many people piling in – or the shops are getting smaller! Fortnums is so damn busy and they’ve put tables all over the place so you can barely move around. Selfridges had people dressed as crackers blocking everyone from getting past lol. It’s really weird what’s happening to London recently, there’s people everywhere and at least one of them standing in the doorway on their phone. I guess there’s just a lot less places for people to go now, wasn’t there a house of Fraser and a Fenwicks near there? Plus the the Debenhams, House of Fraser and BHS on Oxford street gave all disappeared. These were very big stores a lot of people went to, but I guess now everyone is concentrated in what’s left. Look at them piling in to the road lol, they’re everywhere!

  20. Why would you do this to yourself when the Internet is right there?!

  21. Why do I still zoom in looking for my exes – and how do I stop my brain being that guy…

  22. I haven’t been to London in such a long time lol. I actually miss those vibes 😂
