    Its paused so that the lawsuit can wait until the law that allowed for this suit to go forward, gets a constitutionality review. This is not a good or bad thing, its just so that the people bringing the suit can make sure that the law won’t be overturned post verdict.

  28. For those curious, the lawsuit against McMahon was filed after a 2023 law that eliminated the statute of limitations on sex crimes against children.

    That law was first introduced in 2007. Kudos to Maryland Democrats for sticking with it all those years!

    In November, 2023 the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington filed suit, because of course they did, and it’s now before the Maryland Supreme Court.

    Despite the headline’s implications, this is a pause pending a ruling on the constitutionality of the law removing the statute of limitations, and it’s the Catholic church fighting the law.

    And to be clear, Trump is still a criminal asshat.
