UK politics live: Truss warns Britons of ‘some economic hardship’ as she announces more Russia sanctions

  1. What happened to the magic money tree that allowed them to give away £5bn in Bounceback Loans to fraudsters and crooks?

  2. Like most sane people I support Ukraine and can understand if there is some hardship for British citizens.

However what is really getting on my tits is that whenever these Tory cunts have a platform they use the opportunity to spin the lie that Britain is great and that Tory’s are doing everything brilliant and we all love them. Obvious bullshit echoed by the blonde bint today. I’m sure the dumb fucks out there will ignore Boris’ track record and vote blue but I sincerely hope that the more astute of us vote for a party they believe is better.

  3. “Some economic hardship” for whom?

Guarantee a nurse will feel the effects far more than any of her crooked/corrupt cabal and friends.

    Christ, I despise this ‘government’.

  4. Everything was going so well for the economy up until now.

So if there is any economic over the coming months we will definitely know it is all because of the Ukraine crisis, and nothing to do with failed government policies.

  5. They have found their dead cat for the cost of living crisis they engineered now. I completely support sanctioning Russia and helping Ukraine fight them, however the crisis was already firmly established before Putin invaded Russia and would still have happened if he never did. Some economic crisis to help Ukraine would be endurable if it was not stacked on top of an economic crisis that is almost entirely domestic.

  6. Some MORE economic hardship . FTFY
A lot of Britons can’t cope with any more Truss. Take the vat off fuel. Tax the energy companies. Close the tax havens. Get the offshore money back home and invest it in the UK or get deported.

  7. How about we just assume absolutely fucking everything is a complete pile of shit and every single one of our outgoings will go through the roof and only tell us when there’s GOOD news.

  8. It’s just hit me. They’re going to claim the rising cost of food and fuel is Russia’s fault, aren’t they?

  9. Excuses for sky rocketing prices. Only around 30% of which will be down to actual rises, the other 70% will be profiteering from a crisis. When the media said natural gas had risen 40% in one day, due to Russia, the real figure was less than 6%. They’re preparing you for gas prices to go around stratospheric.

  10. Truss and the Tories are trying to blame the Russain nvasion for the cost of living crisis. Alot of idiots will believe them and her

  11. Hardship on top of the hardship we had already. When this is over, we better get straight back to the cost of living crisis.

  12. Due to be getting comfortably the largest bonus and payrise I’ve ever received in April. This was all worked out a while back; it’s been *almost* comical how my expectations over what I can do with it have gradually dwindled from “new car and abroad holiday” to “leave it there to pay bills”.

Don’t get me wrong, I fully recognise I’m very lucky but *fuck*; my wife and I work really *fucking* hard to provide for our kids. Finally looked like 2022 might be the year where we actually started to have money left over for *us* each month but no, that floppy haired cunt and his pals we never voted for have driven us off a cliff. The sheer gall to try to frame this as the unfortunate side effects of their noble stance on Russia is just par for the course at this point.

Really feel for those of you struggling; been there myself in the past. Just turn the heating on and pay for food, fuck the heating bill. The gas guys are going to have to accept people will need to spread the cost, keep your families warm and fed.
