Fundamentally, a Tory government will never greatly improve r&d in Britain because it requires long term planning and letting new things succeed perhaps at the cost of existing businesses. This is anathema to their current form of governance.
Everyone should understand by now that Conservative governments ideologically shy away from strategic planning, preferring to leave our national destiny to the selfish “wisdom” of the free market.
I just don’t see how a British remake of Silicon Valley would work. Would Mike Judge even have been on board to write it? Probably not. Let’s keep to just the original one, yeah?
The Ox-Cam arc would have been awful for the UK environment and biodiversity.
