  1. His forces are already attacking the Kurds and he said that he will start a massive Jihad campaign against Israel after Syria recovers. not good leader for Syrians (especially non-Sunni and non-Arab ones)

  2. The entire motivation for western desire to depose Assad was purely because he was antagonistic to Israel, nothing else. Spreading democracy, ending oppression, or preventing genocide had nothing to do with it. As long as Israel benefits it doesn’t matter to the American establishment if an even more radical group takes charge in Syria and starts genociding Christians. Israel has gotten its chance to profit from the chaos with even more land grabs and their whipped dogs in the American government couldn’t be any happier.

  3. So thats all it takes? All he has to do is renounce, change his name, and maybe put on a suit and we treat him like he wasn’t affiliated with the terrorists that took almost 3000 american lives?

    Surely this will end well.

  4. Why do ppl let perfect get in the way of good enough?

You’re expecting full functioning representative democracy with rights to lqgbt and women on your first go in the middle east?

This is the law of the land in the ME. The way things are. Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc didnt get to the states they are now by being some liberal democracy 😂

The freedom the average syrian fought for and believes in maybe a different kind of freedom from you and i. I know its kinda crazyyy

I dont wanna be cynical prediction making like all of reddit but syria’s institutions look largely intact compared to libya and the likes.

The next years may not be perfect but there maybe peace and stability for majority of syrians
