In 2020 Poland received over 18 billion from the EU & they contributed just over six billion, all things considered 1.2 million a day in fines is a drop in the ocean, I’d be surprised if they even care, shame really as EU membership has helped them a hell of a lot over the past 17yrs.
It has been very amusing to me how quickly the “European family” breaks down and everybody turns on each other.
It reminds me of the brexit vote, the weeks leading up to the vote this subreddit was filled with an overflowing amount of pro U.K. love, I remember dozens of topics trending on All which were just thousands of users stating their love for the U.K., U.K. people, culture, achievements, declaring what a wonderful country it is and how great a member of the EU it is.
Literally the day after and every day since, those same people turned on a dime and declared their hatred for it. They climbed over each other to state how backwards, racist and xenophobic the U.K. and every U.K. citizen is, a lot of users even said they hope we see starvation in the streets and medicine supplies running out so British people can suffer.
The “solidarity and love” your EU nations have for each other constantly gets shown up as the thinnest veneer. All this Polish drama was all it took for the superiority complex’s towards Eastern Europe to show up, the disdain, even the disgust you all feel towards Poland and Polish people.
The same happens if corporate tax gets mentioned, suddenly Ireland stops being the jolly island next to the U.K. you all love, and you, with gritted teeth and rage in your eyes, talk about how irrelevant Irish people are and how their only appealing feature as a country is their tax rate, which means they have stolen trillions from you.
In case of the ‘third world war’ between Poland and the European Union we in Russia wish succes to both sides.
