Why is this allowed

  1. Well, it’s not allowed. But people are inconsiderate and the winds are strong.

Lime and competitors are good for society. But it’ll only work out if we are all considerate of others and if authorities properly regulate it. In some areas of London, and in all areas of Paris, there are designated parking bays only.

It’s getting out of hand, if we want to keep this mode of transport we need to come together. I don’t really believe those “ban lime” guys are really thinking rationally, nor actually helping with the cause

  2. Westminster council has over 71,000 parking spaces, of which 28,000 are on-street resident/shared use, for motor vehicles.

Westminster council has given just 300 spaces over for the use of bike sharing parking. It has also given 185 spaces to car club parking (ie the same thing as lime, but with cars). 185 car club spaces could fit, at *least* 1,200 bikes.

Take away just a smidge of car parking and the problem disappears.

  3. The sad truth is that bicycle users seem to have this self-righteous belief that the city MUST be formed around their convenience. They’re a cyclist so you should be happy they’re cycling. Forget about the blind, the people who have trouble walking, people with buggies and that’s just the pavement. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cyclist obey the laws of the road for longer than a minute.
