Strong never worked a day in his life in Summer Stock, and smaller productions, and it shows. I’ve known fuckers like that all my career and they always turn out the same in the end…ditching method. Because method is absurd bullshit for people who either don’t know righteous suffering or have never experienced deep meaningful human connection a fucking day in their lives.
It does make it uncomfortable on set when another actor is in character all the time. It’s awkward.

What everyone thinks is method acting is not method acting. Staying in character is insanely dangerous.
It’s a fine line. But I lean towards Cox on this one. Method is just that but acting is just that as well. Like bro your acting, fucking act. I worked on a few sets doing bits and bobs for the set and the ones who just read up and knew their shit were infinitely better to work with than the ones “living” the part. I’ve also worked wrestling shows and the ones who live the gimmick are just….awful. compared to the ones that just play the gimmick. Those guys know what’s up. Same shit man. If you have to be nearly frozen to death to pretend to be then you aren’t acting your just cold. More in common with Jackass than acting.
I don’t see a single issue with anything he said and I doubt Strong does either.
He compliments his acting and gives notes on how he thinks he could improve.

Cox isn’t a great actor. He’s fine, had some good roles in some successful movies
Kendall was no question the most popular roy and strongs acting basically got a bunch of cynical teenage girls to call him “pookie” and generate a rabid fan base on his behalf. I think anyone who can motivate that doesn’t need a lot of help
Strong is such an insufferable asshole. Gives actors an even worse name than they have.

Will anything bad happen if Strong is casted in a serial killer role?
I saw some “10 questions with Jeremy Strong” type show on the airplane. Every answer was a pretentious reference to obscure art and literature that enlightened his soul and elevated his being. Like Ted Mosby, but much worse.
He must be a blast at parties.
I clearly need to watch Succession.
Listened to an interview with JS recently. He sounded like the most insufferably pretentious and humorless person I’ve ever heard drone on. Couldn’t help but think, there’s a celebrity I hope to never meet. Brian Cox on the other hand I’d have beers with any time.
How does this even work in practice like do he and Cox show up at the office and he’s in character when they chat over the water cooler ?
Method just seems like a way to be an asshole and have an excuse to get away with it.
It also seems really dangerous. Playing the Joker and trying to keep that aura going really fucked with Heath Ledger.
Just watched gentlemen with him. Arguably the worst acting.
I get it’s annoying and pretentious but Jeremy strong is a one of the best actors right now and was the best performer in Succession… so it obviously works for him.
Legend has it he’s still in character. Brad Pitt is still Achilles and his bitch to our Lord Agamemnon.
