Thousands of people protest against the “Sugus-Gugus” in Zurich | Following the publicised vacancies in the coloured “Sugus houses” in Zurich, around a thousand people protested on Sunday against “greed for profit” and “speculation with living space”.

1. I don’t know the details, but in general there seems to be a disease in Zurich of pulling down perfectly fine buildings and replacing them with buildings that look ugly, low quality and aged the moment they are finished! Oh! And with much higher rent!

   I don’t know how long my building will stand, as for the last 5 years everything around me has been rebuilt, ugly Siedlungs.

3. I appreciate how the media is naming and shaming Regina Bachmann for this, for the eviction and the exploitation of her father’s health. What disgusts me most though is the fact that there will be no consequences to this. The people will have to move out sooner or later, she will refurbish the houses and rent them for increased profit and won’t have to give a flying fuck about all of this.
