Italian LGBTQ+ hate crime bill defeated

  1. Anyone can explain to me how that law would have promoted equality between people? It seems to give one part of the population more rights than others.

(That’s a real question here, not a statement against LGBTQ+ people)

  2. Hate crime is already a thing in Italy. There is no need for an extra bill that protects LGBT over others. All are equal, none get preferential treatment.

  3. There is another post on this sub about this topic, where OP provides actual details about the bill and what the objections were. This title is deceiving to say the least, but it pushes an agenda so I guess it’s ok.
