I received a package from DHL without any label, just my name and my old address and a sticker with DHL Päckchen like the one above

I moved away from this place 4 months ago and had used DHL rerouting services to get all letters at a different address (which has worked so far except for this one)

I cannot collect the package for another couple of months. Any idea how to know whom is it from?

  1. What happened? This parcel got delivered to your old address where don’t live any more? How did you know about it then? If a neighbour informed you about it, just ask them to open in on your behalf.

  2. Please censor the barcode as well, you don’t need the numbers below to read the code itself 🙂

  3. Ask the old roommate to send it to you and you’ll pay the delivery?

  4. Personally, I would go to the police station and ask whether they could open it together with you.
I mean could be drugs or anything illegal.

Nachsendeauftrag has a limited validity (though IIRC it’s more than 4 months), so either it has run out (check) or it just failed in this case.

One option is to ask your roommate to get a “Sender verzogen, neue Adresse: …” sticker (or just write it on the Päckchen, but they normally do have stickers when he brings it to a subsidiary office). I am not entirely sure what the process is then in detail, but ideally the sender would be informed in some way or other of your new address, and can update your address.

I don’t think there is a way to find this out as an end customer.
