It seems gay and LGBT people are the main problem in Poland
So, a million euros a day in fines isn’t enough? Gotcha.
Poland needs to leave the EU
Seriously why
This is literally just removing rights from people with no benefits. As far as I’m aware, appart from the inherent risks in manifestations (breaking in stores, the occasional fight with the police, etc) they are not hurting anyone.
The only way I can see this being beneficial is to get brony points from the ultra conservatives, but is it really worth the cost in alienating a part of the population (especially the young adults) and looking like a fool internationally?
The title is very misleading and not showing the true face of that bill.
It would ban (and puhish) ANY PUBLIC SPEECH ANYWHERE in Poland and internet in Poland about: homosexualism as a valid sexual orientation, gay marriage, transexualism, gender identity, any sex education, any public display of afections could be interpreted as “depraving the youth”.
It would also “protect” any christian religious symbols aby baning artists ability to use them and any use that could be percieved as offensive because “christians are under siege and most discriminated group in Poland atm”.
This bill would basicly make it illegal forever to even ask for equal rights because “all nonheterosexuals are just pedophiles”.
The group who created this bill also wants to ban in-vitro (cause those kids have no souls) and ban divorces (cause ungodly).
But why? What is the point? Plain and simple cruelty? Poland right now have more in common with Russia and Turkey than Germany or France
This is just conservative anti-abortion rights Life and Family Foundation gathered signatures in front of churches. It’s not a law. It’s not going to be a law. Just NGO collected signature so it has to be read. Any group can do that about anything & everything as long as they gather signatures.
I don’t think pride parades should be a thing but banning them with all the other bs Poland’s been up to is purely phobic.
This seems like a distraction from the EU problems. The government seems to be trying to make everyone angry at the same time – Banning halloween celebrations in some schools, putting more restrictions in place in Eastern Poland (a PiS stronghold), this shit, and also the independence march getting banned by a judge’s ruling after last year’s fiasco (in which the march was held despite being forbidden due to Coronavirus restrictions, resulting in various acts of violence).
This country is so fucked. :/
First few days/weeks/months of new government (assuming that we will choose other guys in 2023 IIRC) will be “fun” – cancelling and reversing all those retarded PiS laws.
stupid if true
Is everone gay on Reddit now?!
>Kaja Godek, who heads the Life and Family Foundation, submitted 100,000 signatures under the bill to the Sejm last November. Although the lower chamber of parliament verified it positively, the deputies did not take up the bill. This decision was made by the Speaker of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek (PIS). The foundation’s activists turned to the Supreme Court, sending it a complaint against Witek’s decision. However, the court ruled that the complaint was submitted too late and rejected it. Consequently, Godek began collecting signatures again – helped by the Catholic Church – and in August again submitted the project to the Sejm.
2021, reddit realizes “Citizens’ right to initiative” exists, which allows any project to be submitted to Sejm if it gets at least 100k signatures.
I am generally against LGBT+ as a political movement but I belive everyone should have a right to free speech even if I disagree with them
Can at this point we Poles just form a French-style revolution against the PiS?
PiS has turned our beautiful country into the Catholic-Christian equivalent of the Taliban.
