  1. What’s likely is that data centers, together with their own dedicated gas generation, will be built to be off-grid. This prevents regional grids from being overwhelmed. But it will be a climate change accelerator. Given more time, data centers will get their own nuclear power plants. But all will be off-grid. Expect that the Permian Basin with its glut of natural gas will be a prime location.
