One of those that’s both astonishing but also not surprising at all. Southwark is the largest landlord in London, one of the largest in the country. Is it any wonder it’s also one of the worst?
people who live there should get one then. they are like £5 or they can have it’s the governments fault put on their tombstones
I used to work in insurance claims and this doesn’t surprise me much. The watchdog, or some other body, needs to do a similar exercise on HMOs. On top of being massive fire hazards, many lack basic fire prevention (think smoke blankets and extinguishers) and detection tools despite councils generally requiring these.
The renters bill was a start, but social and private renting needs a massive overhaul and actual enforcement of regulations that exist for our safety.
