1. From the article : ‘One fear is that allowing research into solar geoengineering will lead to a slippery slope that enables its use. Supporters counter that the temptation to deploy it is only going to grow and so it should be governed at a global level to avoid a rogue government or billionaire taking it into their own hands.’

   the irony is: A certain billionaire and other countries have deployed an enormous number of satellites lately in their own form of geoengineering:

   When those satellites turn into aluminum oxide it catalyzes the chlorine – ozone reaction – destroying the ozone layer.

2. Let us consider for a moment just how well the world’s “leaders” have listened to sound scientific advice on this topic over the past several decades… What makes **anyone** think they’re gonna listen **now**?

3. Thank you, anything to do with the sun as a solution to climate change i am strongly against. I feel the sun is tied to our very sanity, and that its absence would drive us mad( i know you’re only talking about mirrors, but america, in some parts, talkin about total cloud coverage, no light in no light out lik the matrix). Especially when these solutions are the cheapest solutions the companies that caused all this are coming up with. They industrialized the problem and they’re trying to commercialize the solution. They know we’re going to make them pay for it, and they’re trying to turn the solution into a subscription service, which is why they’re coming up with the cheapest solutions, probably taking into account the repercussions of said solutions and still trying to go through with it anyway! They want to put a bandaid on a broken bone.

4. I am guessing there are different kinds of geo engineering so let’s not all put them in the same basket.

   Using controversial chemical solutions to cool down the athmosphere or capturing carbon sure sounds like it’s not a good idea or plain won’t help but painting roofs white to reflect the solar rays is not a bad idea.
