Worst Disney attraction ever.
Is this the prison with the industrial crematorium installed after the start of the rebellion?

ICC needs to issue an arrest warrant for Assad so he can’t visit most of the world.
Given that Assad gassed his own people with chemical weapons, this is incredibly sad, but not in the least bit surprising.
estimated 5-13k people killed in that one prison alone from 2011-2015, good googly moogly, that’s at least 3.4 people per day up to 9 people per day for four years straight, daily, no breaks
Underground I can believe. Hidden blocks of cells behind secret doors seems much less likely. Consider yourself as somebody who’d set up something like this. You’re doing horrible things, but you *have* to be confident that you’ll be able to continue, confident that nobody’s ever going to be in a position to inspect the facility. Why on earth would you have to have secret passages and such? You have absolute control over who comes in an out, so why bother?
EDIT. To clarify, I can see secret doors to dungeons under the cathedral, the city hall or the university. But this is inside the most high-security prison in the country. Nobody’s going to be just wandering around, asking themselves, “I wonder what’ behind *this* little door?”
This is, most sadly, one of those ‘faint hope’ rumours that get started to make relatives less worried,
You know the more I hear about him, the less I like about this Assad guy
But Assad was the lesser evil according to ignorant Redditors. Somehow a stable leader while pludging his country into a civil war because he couldn’t help imprisoning, torturing and killing protesters.
Gonna be convenient for the islamists when they start their own inquisition
There were reports that some of the prisoners were in total isolation, that some didn’t even know that Hafez Al-Assad had died in 2000 and that Saddam Hussein was ousted in 2003.
I didn’t realize that Assad was North Korea’ing his own country until now. Just figure it was another authoritarian kleptocracy. Makes you wonder if the Kims ever get booted, how the North Koreans will react.
I just skimmed the amnesty international report from a few years ago, I think I’m going to vomit.
I didn’t realize how systematic it was. I don’t really get the point of having show trials if you’re going to beat up and kill people anyways, but it seems extremely organized. And must have been recorded somewhere.
I am surprised at how many former guards or prison workers contributed to this report. I guess maybe some worked there from before but left when it got this bad.
Always use a safety word
But but…. people say Assad authority should have continued hold syria on their grip./s
Assad really is on par with the likes of Pol Pot and Idi Amin in terms of evil
Can someone break down what Assad did that made him notorious? Never really followed the guy in the news. Links would be appreciated for further reading. Thanks!
As expected, a dictator offering asylum to another dictator.. Russia is the cancer of humanity…
