A man is in prison. This man is irrelevant to the story.
This man’s *father’s* social welfare was stopped, and his father is suing the State to have it turned back again.
The *reason* his father’s social welfare was stopped is because when they searched his house, they found suitcases with €350,000 in cash which he could not explain. And he had confirmed on his application for social security that he had no money, and therefore needed State support.

A decent judge would offer him a one way ticket home. He has plenty of money to start fresh, away from gays.

The state should be suing him to pay back everything he received since he commited fraud during his application. He was a guest of this country and he took advantage.
This does raise questions on the states ability to check the funds and assets of those living abroad.

DSP hounded my ma (no savings, worked as a cleaner p/t while raising 3 kids on her own, got her 2 bed gaff in Tallaght in divorce from my dickhead da in the late 90’s) for about 6 months when she claimed her non-contributory state pension. She didn’t have enough PRSI for the full one as my da didn’t like her working when they were together and when he pissed off she could only work p/t.
The inspectors were even asking her neighbors who else lived in the house, despite my Ma declaring my sister lived there on the application. They deny her fuel allowance every year as my sister is still living there (sister works in Dunnes ffs).
Then you see this lad milking the system despite breaking the rules and still has the temerity to sue the state and he’ll probably win. Absolute joke of a country.

Honestly curious how he presently pays his day to day bills with all his suitcase money gone (or so I assume), and no dole to draw.
