Hello.
Over the weekend I got into a car accident in poland.
I live in germany.
The police officers who arrived on the site gave me these papers and said I must pay 2000PLN
They also said I should try pay this at the post office but that I could also do it via bank transfer.
I've spent most of today trying to figure out how to pay this online.
I only have a German bank account and Google has not helped me get any sort of swift, bic or IBAN number on where I can pay this fine…
I even went to the German post office, by foot because my car is totaled 🙁
Ans the post office in germany said that they cannot help me.
So I am now resorting to redit.
Is it possible for me to pay this fine using a German bank account?
I would hate needing to take a bus or train into Poland just to pay this fine at a polish post office…
Thanks in advance.

You need to convert the account number (4710….) into IBAN format which should be trivial with some googling.
Then you can find out the SWIFT/BIC code of the bank. I don’t think you need anything else.
By [https://rankomat.pl/samochod/jak-zaplacic-mandat-przez-internet](https://rankomat.pl/samochod/jak-zaplacic-mandat-przez-internet) (same info is on many other places like [https://wabrzezno.policja.gov.pl/k44/ruch-d/jak-zaplacic-mandat-kar/107336,Jak-zaplacic-mandat-karny-nalozony-przez-Policje.html](https://wabrzezno.policja.gov.pl/k44/ruch-d/jak-zaplacic-mandat-kar/107336,Jak-zaplacic-mandat-karny-nalozony-przez-Policje.html) )you just have to:
To pay a fine from a foreign account, you will need the following SWIFT code and IBAN number:
* **SWIFT code**: NBPLPLPW
* **IBAN number**: PL47 1010 0055 0201 6090 0999 0000
Additionally, make sure to include your personal details as well as the fine reference number and series in the payment description.
Fine reference and series number are (“Seria Dg Numer 0814708”).

here you have the bank name too, google-translate the page
[https://zaplacmandat.pl/](https://zaplacmandat.pl/)
IBAN for this account number is PL 47 1010 0055 0201 6090 0999 0000.
Please don’t brake law any more in Poland. It’s decent place, not like Germany.
I never thought about it, but is it also standard in other countries that you get a fine without instructions on how to pay it? A Pole can do it from a designated tab on any bank account, but as a foreigner I’d probably wonder too
Only 2k for crashing into barriers? They let you off easily.
I hope you are fine though, regardless your totalled Skoda. This must have been pretty crazy to get a road accident on what appears to be one of the shortest voivedeship roads of Poland with only a couple of kilometres connecting Czechia and Germany and no major town in between.
Saxony is the state of mind. Greetings from Chemnitz.
You can go to any Poczta (post office) and pay with cash
I have no idea why nobody explained. For **all** Polish bank accounts IBAN is account number with added **PL** in front of in.
So if account number is: 47 1010 0055 0201 6090 0999 0000
Polish IBAN is: PL47 1010 0055 0201 6090 0999 0000
And this will work for every Polish bank account.
For transfers within EU you shouldn’t need SWIFT code as transfers within member states are facilitated using SEPA and not SWIFT.
Fucking thieves
I’m not sure why you didn’t cover your Personalausweisnummer, but I suggest you remove it asap.
You had an accident on this super short, tiny road? Super unlucky. Glad you’re OK.
Honestly, I’ll get downvoted to hell, but I wouldn’t pay. Validity of this “mandat” is 3 years (meaning January 2028 is a “fuck you” moment). There’s a small chance Polish court will bother to go “international”. However, if they do, those 2k PLN (500 eur) will likely double. High risk, high reward 🙂
