  1. Cool. What about the raw sewage dumping? Systemic failures to do basic sewage treatment shouldn’t be tolerated.

  2. Uppa workers M8
Pay rises for everyone at all costs

Oh look everything is so expensive, How’d that happen

  3. Excessive government spending is a primary driver of inflation, just so everybody is aware

  4. That’s a great message for our children.

“Look kids, you can be rewarded for being a failure!”

  5. This is the problem we all face, it affects health, water, everything. Staff need to be paid a fair wage in line with inflation to maintain their existing lifestyle. Nobodies lifestyle should reduce as a result of inflation. This isn’t about increasing pay, it’s ultimately about maintaining lifestyle as is. So anyone who begrudges a pay rise for these workers is just a cheapskate who has no thought for their fellow man.

The problem with government sector pay increases is that govt department budgets aren’t being increased in line with inflation. So therefore those departments will have to pay less on providing services so they can cover the wage bill.

In this case the whole sewage network badly needs an upgrade, I live in a new build park and the sewage smells can be horrendous. It’s because the sewage system as is, is at capacity.

When NIWater pay these staff their extra bit, that leaves less money available to resolve my sewage issues. I’m ok with that because ultimately it’s a failure of our government who have increasingly ignored NI Water infrastructure concerns for years on end. Sewage doesn’t win votes until it’s overflowing out the soil pipes.

  6. What’s the SF connection here? Did they negotiate it? Are they paying it?
