Russian soldiers heard an incoming Ukrainian FPV drone and decided to freeze in place in the hope that the pilot would not notice them.

  1. I wanted to say “Hey, maybe they just knew their lives were over so they tried to be brave and let the drone finish them quick, instead of bleeding to death over prolonged time.”

But probably they were just stupid and thought “Ivan! Don’t move! I hear a drone, maybe it won’t see us” not realizing that if you can hear it, it’s already tooooooo close.

  2. At least the tactic has ensured that he doesn’t have to suffer for long.

  3. Got troops in a combat zone doing the mannequin challenge before we get GTA6

  4. “Remain calm, comrade. I have heard of these flying bears. Simply stay still…”

  5. Why are there so many Russian soldiers just randomly walking about alone? Great tactics Russia

  6. “Ivan, is there an insect on me?” “Hold still. Let me see.”

  7. This makes sense if you’re in some sort of concealment; I have no idea how they hope to “hide” by freezing in the open road!

  8. It was 50/50 if it would work or not, as confirmed by the result of the experiment

  9. Its a fear response, I dont think he is dumb enough to think that he wouldn’t be seen.

I think his body just stopped working because of fear

  10. The drone operator – “this is too easy…”

Bad strategy. At least it was quick and no suffering.

  11. At least they tried something new. Now we all know it wont safe life, he is a hero.

  12. Honestly, what is the play? I know shotguns are effective, but they probably don’t have one. You can’t outrun it. So, I guess scatter and run like a bitch in different directions?

    Shoot your rifle at it?

  13. There is another possibility:

All frontline soldiers know abt FPV drones. All frontline soldiers know how unlikely evasion is in open spaces.

This could be a calculated decision to not be maimed in the middle of nowhere with no hope of medivac.

  14. I still cant believe these fuckers dont have shotguns. I get the Russian military is notoriously corrupt, but how are dudes not getting ahold of them privately. They have to know how bad the drone situation is…
