Belgian company fuel card owners

  1. There’s an esso on the corner where I live, with decent prices. They have vlijmscherpe vrijdag where they just dip below the lowest prices. I’ve seen the price go from 1,68 on monday to 1,9 something. Also I’m pretty sure it was stil 1,89 when I left home this morning…

  2. Gas prices rise -> Companies need to pay higher prices for their fuel cards -> deduct more from their taxes -> government has less income because companies can deduct more -> government has to either cut services, increase other taxes or add debt.

Either way, everyone without a company car who are currently struggling with the high gas prices are indirectly subsidizing those with a company car.

  3. I assume I’m speaking for everyone that has a company car + fuel card:

“This current war is terrible, and the effect it has on individual lives is equally terrible… As far as the effect it has on fuel prices…: IDGAF.

Trip to the sea/Ardennen/Amsterdam? Lol, why not?”.

  4. Company fuel card owners will also become company ev charge card owners.

This is literally why I specifically wanted to have this be a part of my wage. It’s the best way to ensure your wage follows actual cost of living.

  5. I will try to say something sensible between allthe beer and ricard.

There is a reason why europe didnt follow through 4 years ago. We were a bad country, paying people in cars. Now we have the biggest fleet that will turn electric. When the turnover will come and the force to electric is there. All company cars will be electric. And since we have many company cars, electric will be many. _Mark my words_ I told it 5 years ago Mark my words.

  6. Working in France (Lille), Belgium (Brussels) & the Netherlands (Tilburg) and commuting a lot between the 3, i’m seriously considering converting my car to e85 & fueling up in Lille all the time.

  7. Have a car and live in Brussels … don’t really care. I pay 20 euro gas more a month, that’s the least of my problems. It’s what I pay more in the supermarket every week with the inflation. Electric I don’t have anywhere to charge it, and I would have to plan it ahead. Gas could be 5 euro a liter, it still would not impact my budget to much to switch to electric.

  8. Still cheaper than 2018 fuel prices.

My pump station is still a bit under 1.8€/L while in 2018 it was well over 1.8€.

  9. I don’t give a damn shit about higher fuel prices. It’s everything else that’s sky rocketing.
Prices increase very fast, but my paycheck? Not so much but meanwhile my company is increasing the prices of what they sell by 10-15% by still using the same cheap resources they were stocking a year ago. Which means more profit for them… and trust me, all of them are doing the same thing.

  10. I went to drop off my girlfriend to Schipol this morning. Gas is 2.23 in the Netherlands. Fuck me.

  11. I’ve bought a CNG car which was the perfect balance between ecology, economy and autonomy to go to work (160km).

There is a brand new dats24 point in my city. Price usually were at 1€/kg. Last week, it was 2,5€/kg. Today, it’s 4,5€/kg! What the actual hell?! Fortunately, I can go to another station at 2€/kg but still.

  12. Changed jobs last year, had to give up the company car + fuel card. Fuel prices have been going up ever since, lol.
