Zelensky calls for NATO to protect parts of Ukraine’s territory • FRANCE 24 English

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called Friday for NATO to offer guaranteed protections to parts of Ukraine controlled by Kyiv in order to “stop the hot stage of the war.” Zelensky also implied he would be willing to wait to regain the almost one-fifth of his country that Russia’s army has seized, if such a deal could offer security for the rest of Ukraine and end the fighting.

  1. Zelensky as a puppet of west has single handedly destroyed the entire Ukraine country. Just remove this comic from power and get a serious Ukraine statesman who cares about Ukraine ..

  2. Ukraine's route to getting its territory back diplomatically:-
    Ukraine: give it back!
    Russia: no.
    Ukraine: please give it back?
    Russia: no.
Ukraine: please please please give it back!!
    Russia: oh, OK then.

  3. Sorry little man no one's listening anymore… trump's is coming and you'll do as your told so the overdue election can be heald and Ukraine's citizens can kick you out and arrest you for dragging out the war year's longer than needed!!.❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇦

  4. Tuff choice zelensky, giving up all that land for the safety of the Ukrainian people but I say good choice. Russia can have all that land so as long as your country get in NATO.

  5. Been saying this the whole time Ukraine is losing that war badly but the media keeps hiding it

  6. Like a a Vegas gambler, in 2022 zelensky went all in and lost by rejecting end of conflict agreements with Russia. He should have taken the deal back then because now he's in a bigger hole

  7. Sorry if anyone is offended, but this is my opinion :

Ukraine is colonized by its own President and approved by the Ukrainian government, I just feel sorry for the Ukrainian people who are being used as scapegoats by the Ukrainian government.

Where are the Ukrainian activists who oppose the war??

Are they silenced by their government??

"If the majority of Ukrainian civilians turn out to support their government's steps like now, then I think the Ukrainian state has lost its mind."
The State's decisions that come out of the President's mouth and the State's actions are the result of the government's considerations. The two cannot be separated.
"Even a State with a monarchy system still negotiates (at least with royal advisors) before making decisions and actions."

I have a question for all of you ,do the majority of Ukrainian people support the Zelensky government???

Are there no Ukrainian activists who oppose the current war???

Are the Ukrainian people aware that the State of Ukraine is only considered a chessboard by NATO and America???

Do you think that "aid" in weapons and military from America and NATO is given for free???

"I hope that the Ukrainian people will soon realize that your country has fallen too deep into the grip of America and NATO."

Even if Ukraine wins (I'm just imagining it) from Russia, "it will not be the victory of the Ukrainian people but the victory of America and NATO"

  8. Putin becomes spoiled and behave like that because Britain and NATO are coward afraid to confront. If Ukraine campaign failures Putin can do what he want, even India, China, NOKOR or Iran will be a target, because even married couples relationship become sour, because no will stand against Russia afraid of Mach 10. US has already develop Mach 20 missiles but Russia does not affraid of it, instead Russia to NATO to kneel in front of Puti.

  9. Agreed. Since Russia demonstrated with its invasion that neutral independence is not respected, a hard line between NATO and the Russian Empire is required.

  10. How about Ukraine doesn’t join nato and Russia gets the hell out of Ukraine or option 2: Ukraine joins NATO and they come kick putler out.

  11. World ptoverb_If a Clown enter in palace, it will be circus. Russia is world first nuke power. Russia-ukraine are mother-child countries. Very difficult issue.Former joker can't deal this issue. Pray for Ukrainians

  12. Dear Heavens, what a sensible proposal from President Zelenskyy and the Members of NATO in Europe. Bravis!, one and all.

I understand, …the problem so far (one that Mr. Biden had to struggle with) is that, if Ukraine became a member of NATO, right this minute, then given the nature of the mutual protection provision of NATO's charter, we would be at war (essentially World War III in Europe) before the ink on their new membership card could dry.

    But…

If there was a binding, open-ended peace agreement in place before Ukraine gained membership, then there would be no state of war, and that awful prospect would be moot.

And no one i Europe really wants war. Except perhaps Putin. If a nation gains NATO membership it does not mean that they are automatically at war with Russia. Just the opposite, in fact. Just take a look at the extreme lengths that the current NATO members are going to, to avoid war with Russia. …No matter how hard Putin is trying to provoke them.

A much, much better offer, if you will pardon my hubris, than the good Gen. Kellog's initial proposal, in a few very significant ways.

The General mentioned something to the effect that we (all of us, Pres. Zelenskyy as well) should consider including a caveat, a priori, that Ukraine not be considered for NATO membership, pretty much indefinitely. …As an incentive to Putin.

    Why? Whatever for, sir?

I know, I know, Putin wanted the whole country. *(Also not a sterling recommendation for him to be simply handed a fifth of it, yes?) But he, pardon the expression, ran out of gas in the process. That's because the Russian big shots were so corrupt, they bought up yachts the size of sky scrapers, instead of all of those actual military necessities. Y'know, the stuff you fight life and death wars with. …Like filling the gas tanks of all the military vehicles, tanks, medevac, supplies. That sort of thing. Look it up if you don't believe me.

But under present circumstances, even without this mythical NATO-non-membership provision, Putin would be getting *every*thing else he wanted Does anyone really think that he would turn down(!?) an offer of Crimea and western Ukraine, with or without any limiting NATO conditions? That's where all (most?) of the oil and gas are. That's why he had his 'little-green-men' steal it all to begin with. Again, look it up. Use any decent search engine and look up "Putin's little green me", and see what turns up.

He is definitely not winning this war. It is costing him almost-but-not-quite-so-far more than he is able to spend (military hardware, human lives, his support at home, -> money <-, the resources of the nation diverted from producing value to churning out stuff that gets demolished and is then completely worthless.

And what has he gotten so far? Three years of diligently trying to 'beat-up' a nation the size of Texas, …and not being able to do it. Being actually beaten back, over and over again. For crying out loud he is currently trying to import zealous North Korean bodies to feed into the meat grinder, …because, for one thing, he's run out of convicted Russian murderers to use after he emptied quite a few of his prison, …and they were ground up into hamburger.

Not an indication of national stability, let alone anyone who thinks he's holding the upper hand.

He, …should be suing us for peace. He destroys everything, and gains practically nothing.

He could just walk away. Just turn around and, e-hem, advance to the rear. If he went back home and left the Ukrainians with what they have. Simply that. Which is not quite, but close, to what they had before he invaded them, …completely unprovoked. If he did that, then (eventually) all the sanctions would be lifted, and all the money would come back to Russia. And he could tell everybody at home that, see?, …he won. And those poor people are lied to over and over again, …so, …much, …all they would have as evidence is a return of decent jobs for good pay, enough groceries in the stores, and nice homes.

    sigh

What legitimate argument can be made to the contrary except that, …he doesn't want to (or somesuch other word-salad that only adds up to the same thing)?

And our European allies in NATO (yes, they are our allies, they are our friends, …Putin is, …not), would be really quite displease with us and the whole situation if they thought that they would, at some point or another, have to stare at Putin right across the border from, say, Poland.

Well done, President Zelensky. You hang in there, sir.

  13. Don't just blame zelensky, most Ukrainians have this attitude. I now understand Donbass tragedy better than any other i know.
These people like any third world majority including US are not open to reason.

  14. The true leader, his people should not suffer and knows how to reconcile with others.feel sorry for Ukrainian civilians

  15. Guys, first find the answer to the question of what Putin is ready to agree to. That's where to look for the origins of the war." That's not where you're looking for the origins of the war. Putin did not arrange the Maidan. It was not Putin who dragged Ukraine into NATO, contrary to its obligations on neutral status and non-participation in any military blocs given at parting with the Union and included in the state-forming documents. As for the "goal" of Putin's war (the destruction of Ukraine), this is a fairy tale for an internal audience. Why did this "desire" arise only with the illegal change of power in a neighboring state, and even not without the participation of the current main sponsor of the war – the United States?

  16. Nato can't even protect themselves let alone other countries i don't see this working for anyone what happens when the United States doesn't have the ammunition it needs to protect themselves if it has to worry about the other allies as well 😅

  17. Leaders should be careful and thoughtful. The sniffer played with his nation integrity and sent thousands to death naively playing the angloamericanazis game. He should have chosen neutrality back then and would have kept his territories, saved thousands of life and would have the opportunity to strengthening his forces. But I guess white dust addicted and brainwashed puppet end losing big time. Now the question is how long are his Angloamerican Mafia bosses going to let him live. He knows too much and is a total embarrassment to them and to the pathetic NATO criminal forces. He might be sniffing like crazy to cope with his dark future.
