  1. At least you got your seat: my son had a reserved seat on a Cross Country from Oxford to Manchester and it was so busy they wouldn’t let him (and many other passengers) on! He had to wait an hour for the next one.

  2. Cross country can be a bit hit and miss. They tend to put on short two or three coach units which are horribly cramped with way too many people on board.

  3. I can picture the RyanairCrossCountry Twitter response already

  4. Why you lying bro

That ain’t the interior of a voyager or a turbostar, plus it looks like King’s Cross in the background…

  5. You’re sat next to a window as proven by the photo you have posted.

  6. Ooh look at this guy, getting a seat on an XC service /s

  7. I bet you pay for seat 11A on Ryanair as well don’t you

  8. You’ve saved yourself from staring at your own reflection for the duration of your journey

  9. I dislike crosscountry. Their trains are completely inadequate for their routes, which often leads to overcrowding (who’s idea is it to have 4 cars on Edinburgh – Plymouth (actually, it’s moreso 3 due to 1 car being first class, probably effectively 2.5 cars when toilets are factored in) & they are completely expensive (Makes GWR prices seem reasonable, as it’s £30 for Cheltenham Spa – Birmingham, with no choice but XC). I get these factors are now somewhat out of Crosscountry’s control post 2020, but it’s ridiculous nonetheless

  10. You’re lucky you’re not standing!

I used to live in Bristol and would take the train to Leeds at Christmas. The carriage and seat I’d booked was often not part of the train.

After two years of that, I bought a cheap car.

  11. Had the same thing with Trans Pennine Express. You pay £20 and then either don’t get a seat or get sat next to some fat c*nt taking up too much space, and that’s if the train even turns up.
