A new route opens up in Marmalade Game Studio’s popular digital board game version of Ticket to Ride® – Switzerland! In the latest addition to the game, players will be able to claim routes not only between cities, but between Switzerland’s bordering neighbour countries. The map encourages a more dynamic style of play, appealing to both competitive veterans and newcomers alike.
The new country-to-country tickets require players to connect one country to one of the other countries listed on their ticket. For example, a ticket may ask a player to connect Austria to Italy for 6 points, Germany for 5 points, or France for 14 points. As each country has a limited number of available nodes, players need to plan quickly to get those important routes. City-to-country tickets work in a similar manner, only of course, linking a city rather than another country.
At the end of the game, players are awarded points based on the highest-scoring completed connection they made from each ticket. If none of the possible connections were made, the player loses points based on the lowest value on the ticket.
The Switzerland Expansion unloads plenty of gifts for the season too. Two new characters and four new tokens arrive as part of the package, ready to join the player on their adventures.
