However the Baltics and Poland increased their spending by a lot. Poland actually pays more than 4% now.

I despise this orange shitstain, but he makes a good point here. Kind of. It’s one thing to keep ruzzia in check through doing business with them and threatening to sever ties whenever they get out of line. But Germany essentially turned itself into a semi-russian satelite state through its overreliance on cheap gas and energy.

Denmark protested about the pipeline. And Merkel screwed up. People told her that is was a good idea to – at least – built a backup LSG gas hub for shipe in western Germany. She thought it wasn’t necesssary to even just do that.
Let me remind you that Russia – at that time – already used gas as blackmail. And already has screwed up Georgia and helped Assad murdering children etc.
And yes – I want to see Schröder behind bars. But even Schröders own party cannot get him out for good.
My fellow germans have so many excuses for not doing the right thing.
When I am really pissed I tell them a very inappropiate thing just to tease my peers:
“Why is it that Germany always gets in trouble with gas?„
I am triggering them and remind them, that we used gas in WW1, murdered people with gas in concentration camps in WW2 and now we put money in the pocket of the next Hitler wannabe Putler by buying… gas.
This gets my fellow germans pissed.
That is why I tell all germans, that we have a SPECIAL “NIE WIEDER” commitment to fight Putin.
And that is why Germany should have been the first to donate long range weapons like Taurus and not hide behind a weak Biden administration.
Germany has no balls and it will come back and bite us in the ass.
