No wonder as SDP, I think, are more practical than idealistic in their thinking.
The ethos comes from the factory floor whey they learned to oppose oppression. The very nature of the SDP in Finland is to oppose and fill the pockets of those oppressed.
Once they identify Putin&Russia as oppressor there is only one direction to take.
There are certainly shades of grey and wordplay plenty enough to confuse those ideologically inclined and process takes time to come into conclusion.
Please take my words also as rant. I am just a concerned citizen wishing to do my part. Some venting needs to do and this thread seemed suitable for the purpose.
I’ve never been in favour of Finland joining NATO, but now I’m changing my view. The reason is that Russia’s ‘strategy’ seems to be about bombing cities into submission and whilst I’m confident Finnish forces could repel a land attack, I’m not sure how we could fight against bombing from a distance. We would need a different set of weaponry to defend against those types of attacks.
Do you guys have an air defense system?
Only less reliable ally than the US would be russia. I think NATO is best out of bad options though. In modern security landscape no one makes it alone.
