  1. May I present to you the future of Belgian Telecom prices.

    €20 for 10Gbps. God damn.

Edit: site is online, go check it out!

  2. If they do it for 0.60€/GB, I may actually pick up IRL streaming. That’d be a dream.

  3. Have a cousin by marriage at proximus. They do be worried

  4. Nice. Let’s hope they truly disrupt the telecom market.

It’s just so fucking sad that there’s no fiber here… All works have seemingly stopped and Fiberklaar has a statement on their site that due to an unexpected turn of events they will delay everything in my town.

That means I’m completely locked into either Telenet (fuck them) or Orange (kinda okay but still expensive, I literally only need an unlimited internet connection and no bundles or mobile plans)

  5. For comparaison’s sake, I pay 55 (actually 52 because of mobile combo) for Fiber 2.5 Gbps at Mobile Vikings.
And 15 for 15GB mobile plan
If this is really 10Gbps, unlimited, no strings attached, i’m switching in a heartbeat

  6. I work at Orange, I can confirm my bosses are scared hahaha

  7. For comparison, Telenet is selling their “ALL INTERNET” package for 63 euros a month and it comes with a 300 Mbps download speed. For the 1 Gbps speed you need the speedboost which costs 78 euros a month. (ignoring promos)

  8. Dang, that’s some top notch pricing. I’m switching for those prices.

  9. But I read they will do their own fiber network, so this won’t work with Fiberklaar network?

  10. Holy fuck ! Those prices are crazy !
I honestly thought they would be underwhelming and just slightly below competition. Oh my… they’re indeed going to fiercely challenge the current market. Nice one, DIGI !

Just waiting to see what they offer for mobile and TV as well.

  11. ermm 10GBps costs 90 euros at MV, 500 Mbps costs 45 euros at EDPnet. The prices of Digi are really low

  12. In another thread someone told they’re not ready for the launch and they will have alot of problems.
    Can someone confirm this claim?
Would like to try this out but not if I know there will be problems beforhand haha

  13. Wife and I been talking to switch to mobile vikings to save us 30 euros, might need to wait to see how this one plays out.

  14. What’s interesting is that if these prices are real then wholesale pricing (for the use of the fiber network) does allow for these prices + a (small) margin. I can’t imagine that they are selling at a loss… In other words, margins are huge even for the current “budget” providers.

  15. Even if this is excl. VAT, I want to switch now. But the fiber network still needs to be active in my area, even though it’s already been lying here for a year.

  16. Is it a price for a first year? They can’t survive in long period with it because of the renting price

  17. So, bye bye Telenet? Currently I’m paying €35 for 150Gig/month, I’ve cut my cable a year ago. The only culprit now is the limit of 150gig/month for internet tv.
This would be 10€/month for unlimited internet?

  18. Goodbye telenet! From ~€90 a month to € 17,5 for same shit LOL. Get fucked telenet.

  19. Rollout of their own infrastructure? This will take a long time, by which time proximus and Telenet might have deployed a far larger network and it’ll be a price competition.
    Still a fantastic evolution…

  20. It was high time for a provider to step in with their own fiber network! ISPs in Belgium have always been overpriced. I believe that for many Belgians, switching away from their current ISP (Proximus, VOO—with their ridiculous 20 Mbps upload!—or Telenet) will feel more like sweet revenge for the money these companies overcharged them over the years than just about getting faster speeds!

Remains the time needed for DIGI to implement their fiber out of the biggest Belgian cities, I hope they have the funds, and the people, to achieve this in due time.

  21. Proximus just halved my speed, so moving to Digi is a good choice. I had Digi in Romania also so its a nobrainer

  22. Fuck I just signed a 6 month fiber contract with edpnet

  23. another ten to twenty years and they might get their fiber network to my house, thanks for letting me know I’ll set a reminder

  24. This launched in Portugal a few months ago and a lot of people are switching. In Portugal, the only catch is one of the main TV channels have not agreed yet to be in the package, so a lot of older people who watch TV don’t want to change because they want to keep watching this TV channel.

  25. If it’s good, I can get it, and it has no downtime, then sign me up!

  26. That’s going to be fucking amazing in like 10+ years when I finally get fiber in my street…

  27. They only have to €5 package for mobile? Can’t seem to switch it

  28. Romanian here. Digi is a revolutionary telecom company, it is public knowledge how scarred are ISPs and telcos of Digi entering new markets – see how Hungarian officials forced Digi to exit that market. Belgian internet value for money is hurting common sense, being 20-30 times more expensive than a standard internet connection or mobile subscription of Digi in Romania.

  29. Finally! I really hope this shakes things up. Internet is massively overpriced in this country, it’s like a cartel
