We are going to eventually get to a world like the one outlined in the Aspen Proposal. It would be nice if we could get there on the first try and avoid a significant global collapse, but regardless we will get there. Perhaps, if more people understood the essential elements of a sustainable civilization, we would have a better chance of avoiding a lot of suffering. http://www.aspenproposal.org
Oddly enough, this is a warning we also received years ago.
