Elon Musk, one of President-elect Donald Trump’s picks to run a new Department of Government Efficiency,

has called

for pro-environmental government employees to be fired. This is a step too far.

The environment has to take precedent over any of Musk’s companies. He seems willing to turn our planet into a burning cinder for his own profits. He should instead work with government employees to safeguard our fragile atmosphere while protecting the environment.

If Musk is unwilling to do this, he can move to a country that does not care about the environment. He can take all of his companies and leave. Or he can work to help protect the environment.

I am sure there are those in the U.S. who can fit into Musk’s work and continue his work to develop rocketry. No problem.

But Musk is dispensable at best. He can keep his nose out of politics. If not, we voters may chop his nose off. He should stick to cars and rockets.
