They will rather destroy their own country before admitting wrong doing. And with rather I mean this is exactly what they will do.
Putin lost the minute he invaded Ukraine, I can’t see a positive outcome for him when the dust settles
No one expected Russia to attack and now they did, no one expected them to be such an outdated, weak, 3rd-world power. It’s only the nukes that make them dangerous
We talk shit about Russian propaganda. But west propaganda is the same, do you think Putin will ever admit fiasco? He created this war to mask their shitty economic state purely based on oil and gas, and it’s done, he now gets to stay in power and let’s hope he doesn’t expand his mad wishes further on.
And the irony is that Putin could have bee the big winner by simply having his army fuck off back home instead of invading.
This would have accomplished a few things, in my naïve mind:
– He would have shown the world that he’s rational and doesn’t invade countries under false pretences (like Bush and Blair did)
– He might have earned a little more trust from the EU
– He would have ridiculed the Western leaders for spreading “false rumours of an invasion”
– He would have shown that NATO was wrong and that he’s not an enemy
– Nord Stream 2 would have proceeded as planned

GG Vlad, you accomplished your own nightmare instead.
I’m not retreating, it’s a tactical reallocation of assets in the backline.
There is still not enough sanctions. Make no mistake this whole thing around SWIFT is just european and US leaders propaganda to appear strong if front of us, their citizens. There is still not enough sanctions for russia to truly bleed. I hope that changes before ukraine inevitably falls. Least our leaders should do is to lock these sanctions behind legislation for 15-20 years to send strong message to russia, that this situation is not going to get better after they are done with their campaign. Dont celebrate prematurely
In a few weeks on reddit… OP: Vladi1945 – TIFU by starting a war I can only lose.
Their motto is completely whaked. How will they now explain that they intervened to “free” their Russian “brothers” in areas that they claimed they weren’t treated fairly! Now those same people they were supposed to rescue must be real happy that the house they lived in and all other constructions are reduced to rubbles, their car burnt down. They most probably all had to relocate. Now that really beats the initial purposes, doesn’t it?
Russian regime must be mighty proud to occupy a territory with no one there, completely destroyed, that they’ll never be able to rebuild due to economic sanctions that Europe isn’t about to lift, or even all the money they lost in the process.
What’s the point of all that? They’re now the pride owner of naught, that in all likelyhood they’ll never build up again without the oligarch’s money (for those will likely discontinue backing up Putin’s regime, for his very endeavours is what put a stop to their own embezzlement over the years). And that very embezzlement, was the primary source of fund of the country.
How could Putin get out of this while “saving face”? Since sadly that seems to be necessary
Keep in mind this is posted by Ukraine news. Take it with a grain of salt.
Sure, Putin is to blame for the actual war, but in which scenario did he have an actual choice with NATO potentially at his doorstep? Just remember Cuba?
Isn’t there anyone here that can envision that USA is at fault here for escalation of the conflict by not blocking NATO membership for Ukraine and that Ukrainians are bleeding because of some bs “principle” of “any country can ask to join NATO?
