Surprising archeological treasures discovered during the restoration of Paris’ Notre-Dame

France’s iconic Notre Dame Cathedral is formally reopening its doors on Saturday for the first time since a devastating fire nearly destroyed the 861-year-old landmark in 2019. During the restauration process, a number of surprising discoveries were made. Report by Luke Shrago and Melina Huet.

  1. I love the painted sculptures! Medieval cathedrals weren’t all boring and white, they were a riot of colors and filled with murals.
