A post shared on Facebook claims Israeli general Tomer Bar was killed in a Hezbollah drone strike.

This claim is false. There is no evidence Bar was killed.
Fact Check:
Israel struck hundreds of targets in Syria, sinking Syria’s Navy and destroying tanks, aircraft and other weapons left behind by the Syrian Arab Army in an attempt to prevent these weapons from falling into the hands of others, according to The New York Times.
Social media users are claiming that the commander of the Israeli Air Force (IAF), Tomer Bar, was killed by Hezbollah.
“Commander of the Israeli Air Force, Major General Tomer Bar has been killed by Hezbollah Tel Aviv,” one user wrote.
This claim is false. There are no media outlets reporting that Bar had been killed. He is not listed among the soldiers and other military personnel killed since Oct. 7, 2023 on the Israel Defense Force’s website.
Furthermore, he has appeared in media released by the IDF and the IAF since he allegedly died on Nov. 27, according to Reuters. For example, he appeared in a Nov. 28 X post from the IAF, shaking hands with “graduates of the Talfiot program.”
“Last night, 53 graduates of the Talfiot program completed their training after three years, and will take part in the war effort as officers in key positions in the IDF and the security establishment,” reads the tweet.
