Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side were placed in a four-team group but won’t know which of Portugal or Denmark they will play until the Nations League quarter-finals take place in March.
Ireland will face the winner of Portugal vs Denmark. The Boys in Green will also play Hungary and Armenia over six games to take place in September, October and November next year.
They last played Hungary in a friendly last June, where an injury-time Troy Parrott goal secured a 2-1 win under interim manager John O’Shea.
